Yes, an upscaled DVD player CAN enhance your DVD quality to as far as 720p resoution, which is HD, but you quoted, “svga led projector and accepts HD signals. ” The LED part is where it may conflict. LED projectors are not that well at projecting HD 1080p, but 720p is good. See the quality. Guarenteed that it will be HD though
SVGA, originally meaning 800×600 pixel resolution, can also refer to 1024×768. But here’s the problem:
Even though the Native Resolution of your projector may be 1024×768, it will remap the pixel resolution to match the incoming signal which is (for standard DVD) 640×480. As such, by NOT operating at its native resolution, the projector will not look as good. Therefore, standard DVDs will not even look as good as they would going into a low-res projector. Although, really, 640×480 is low enough resolution that you’ll probably not even notice any additional degradation. I’ve used a 1024×768 projector for years to watch my standard DVDs.
If you have an upscaling DVD player, that is, one that plays standard-res discs, but upscales the output to 1080, your projector should handle that, but again, while an improvement in image, it still won’t be as good as you’d hoped. Again, native resolution of the projector is 768p, and remapping the pixels to handle 1080 input will actually degrade the image a little. Still, it would look a little better than just standard-def.
Bottom line is, your SVGA projector will do virtually nothing at all to enhance the video quality of standard DVDs.
