I’ve got a motorized projector screen unit, however I don’t know how to wire it properly to make it lower and raise the screen! It has 3 wires of the same size, Red Yellow and Black. It also has a smaller wire that is green. I’m wondering what wire does what, and how I can wire this thing up to work. I have access to a 300W computer power supply, and I noticed the wires are the same colors, coincidence!? also, is the green wire the controller wire? and if so, how do I trigger it’s function!
if you have experience wiring one of these things, or just know this stuff really well, please help me out!
cheers!

Projector screens are usually 110 or 240 volts, so your computer power supply wont cut it. Usually the green wire will be the earth wire. At a guess the black is probably the neutral and red and yellow will be for up and down. Like I said though its a guess. You can work it out by sticking the wires into an extension cord and see what happens but this method has a fairly high fatality rate if you’re not careful, so my advice would be ask the screen manufacturer. You’ll also need some kind of screen controller if you plan on making it automatically go up and down when you turn on your projector.
