Are LED headlights efficient or why do you only see them as markers on cars?

LED’s are very efficient but you never see them as headlights on a car (only markers and breaklights.) Is this because they are more of a marker light than a projector style light?

   they arent that bright to light up the road for you. just like there are much more efficient ways to move your car besides a gas engine, its just that they cant produce that much energy

   They aren’t bright enough to be used as headlights.
